Regensburg.....

...was worth the almost 5 hour round trip by bus yesterday....but I,m paying for it today! Bibi and I did our own thing....no more following " lollipops" ( official guides), so we saw narrow passages and unique shops not commonly seen in Guelph or Calgary....

Saw the Alte Kapelle instead of the cathedral.....the white and gold of the interior is stunning...we were all alone in it....

Had sausages in the Alte Wursthutte by the Stone bridge....this is the bridge the Crusaders crossed .... Regensburg is 2000 years old...hard to get your mind around this. The Wursthutte has been there since the bridge was built in 1135, the sausages I think are not quite that old....the plaque shows the highwater mark of last month.

Highlight of our excursion was skipping lunch in the Ratskeller and indulging in an ice cream instead....

I thought of asking for a doggy bag....

Ps....it,s a day later July 20.... We are in Regensburg again, this time with the ship, and the church bells are ringing...we have a cruising day, are behind schedule by at least a day....supposed to be in Nuernberg tomorrow
